ALBANY FIREWOLVES BRING EIGHT PLAYERS FROM TRYOUT TO TRAINING CAMP

Training Camp Begins Tomorrow at the MVP Arena

ALBANY, NY – The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announce that eight players from Thursday night’s team tryout and development camp have been selected and added to the initial training camp roster.  The team will hold its training camp this weekend at the MVP Arena in Albany.  Along with training camp, the team will be hosting an open house event this Saturday for fans to watch camp and select their seats for the 2022-23 season.

Players selected from the tryout:

  • Jack Jasinski – Ohio State University
  • Riley Ford – Onondaga Community College
  • Kyle Whitlow – Marquette University
  • Justin Napolitano – Adelphi University
  • Vonzel Legall – Stony Brook University
  • Devin O’Leary – Stony Brook University
  • Amos Gilbert – University of Vermont
  • George Downey – Marywood University

Among the eight players selected to participate in Albany’s training camp, Jack Jasinski appeared in two games last season with the Panther City Lacrosse Club and tallied four points on one goal and three assists.

FireWolves players will arrive in the Capital Region today for the opening of training camp and begin team meetings as the FireWolves prepare for its sophomore season.  Following entrance physicals on Saturday, the team will take the turf twice, first from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and again from 6 – 8 p.m. Finally, the team will close the first weekend of camp with another session on the floor from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday.  The FireWolves will then be in Toronto to practice every weekend up until the beginning of the NLL season.  Albany begins the 2022-23 season on the road against the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, December 3.  Buffalo eliminated the FireWolves from the playoffs last year before falling short in the championship.

The team is also hosting open house on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the MVP Arena.  This will be an opportunity for fans to get a sneak peak of the FireWolves players and coaches as the team prepares for its second season on the floor.  Fans will be able to watch camp from a variety of locations in the arena, and enjoy an atrium party.  Season apparel will be available, and food and beverages will be provided.  For more information on the open house or to RSVP, call or text 518-362-4900, or email Tickets@AlbanyFireWolves.com.
