ALBANY FIREWOLVES NAME DAN BAHL AS PLAY-BY-PLAY RADIO VOICE

Team Also Announces Weekly Radio Show

ALBANY, NEW YORK – The Albany FireWolves, the Capital Region’s Indoor Lacrosse team playing out of the Times Union Center beginning in December, today announce that Dan Bahl will be the inaugural season play-by-play radio broadcaster of the team.  All FireWolves games, both home and away, will be broadcast live on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio with pre and post games shows.

Bahl is currently the Brand Manager at WTMM-FM and co-hosts the afternoon drive show from 3-7 p.m. each weekday.  Prior to coming to the Capital Region, he spent three seasons as the Color Analyst for Quinnipiac University’s men’s and women’s hockey programs, with all games being broadcast on ESPN+.  Bahl worked as a lacrosse play-by-play announcer for Yale Athletics during the 2020 season and worked in the same capacity for Quinnipiac in 2018.  Dan spent the summer of 2019 as a broadcaster and media relations intern for the Valley Blue Sox of the NECBL and spent three seasons working in media relations with the Hartford Yard Goats.  He also served as General Manager of WQAQ 98.1-FM in Hamden and hosted From the Bleachers on the station for four years.

“I am honored and excited to join the Albany FireWolves as the team’s radio voice on 104.5 The Team,” said Bahl.  “I look forward to bringing the fans the same excitement and entertainment over the airwaves as they would experience at the Times Union Center.”

The FireWolves also announce that the team has partnered with the Recovery Sports Grill and will be hosting a weekly radio show beginning on Thursday, October 28.  The taping of the show will take place every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. throughout the duration of the season.  The Recovery Sports Grill East Greenbush location will serve as the main site for the show, but it will periodically take place at other Recovery Sports Grill restaurants throughout the Capital Region.

Bahl will be the radio host of the show each week with a revolving list of guests including FireWolves coaches, players, front office staff and more.  Fans are encouraged to attend the live radio show each week for their opportunity to win FireWolves tickets and prizes, and to meet members of the FireWolves team, the dance team, and the FireWolves mascot.

We are excited to add Dan to our organization,” said George Manias, President of the FireWolves.  In the short time he has been in our market, he has proven himself as a pro and we are thrilled to have him call our games on the radio.  There is no doubt that Dan will become a recognized voice in this market, as will the FireWolves, and together we will help each other grow our brands.  In addition, I would like to thank BBL Hospitality for partnering with us to host our weekly radio show out in the community at the Recovery Sports Grill locations.  We pride ourselves on our community involvement and this partnership helps us to get out into our community each and every week.  We encourage the fans to come out for some great food and drink, and to meet our players, coaches, dance team and staff.
