The Albany FireWolves (1-2) were defeated by the Halifax Thunderbirds (3-1), 14-11, at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York on Saturday evening. Goaltender Justin Geddie remained stout in his FireWolves debut, holding the league’s top scoring team to just 14 goals.

For the second straight game, Connor Kelly led the way for the FireWolves with 5 total points on 4 goals and 1 assist. Through three games, Kelly leads the Wolves with 15 total points on his 7 goals and 8 assists. Kelly’s 7 goals also tops the FireWolves. Kieran McArdle added 4 points in the contest on 1 goal and 3 assists. Ethan Walker logged 3 points on 1 goal and 2 assists. Patrick Kaschalk (1 goal, 1 assist), Jerome Thompson (2 goals), and Tanner Thomson (2 assists) each tallied 2 total points in the loss. Charlie Kitchen, Jackson Nishimura, Mike Byrne, and Nick Chaykowsky rounded out the FireWolves scoring with 1 point each.
In net, Justin Geddie allowed 14 goals while recording 61 saves. Halifax attempted 75 shots on goal, 21 more than Albany.
On defense, Aaron Forster led the team with 6 loose ball recoveries. Forster also blocked 1 shot and caused 1 turnover in the contest. McArdle, Chaykowsky, and Greg Downing each scooped up 6 loose balls on the night. Kitchen and John LaFontaine each blocked 1 shot in the loss.
