POWLESS LEADS FIREWOLVES OFFENSE IN TEXAS: BY THE NUMBERS

The Albany FireWolves (2-12) were defeated by the Panther City Lacrosse Club (9-6), 12-8, at the Dickies Arena on Saturday evening.  Once again, Albany kept the game close in the first half, but Panther City took the lead late in the second quarter and never looked back.

The FireWolves offense was led by Marshall Powless who recorded 5 total points on 2 goals and 3 assists.  Tanner Thomson and Ethan Walker added 4 points in the contest, with 1 goal and 3 assists each.  Thomson ranks second on the club with 29 assists, and is third in total points with 46 and goals with 17.  Walker sits in second on the team with 21 goals, and is fourth overall with 39 total points and 18 assists.  John Piatelli added 3 points in the game on 2 goals and 1 assist.  On the year, Piatelli ranks fifth on the team in total points (30), goals (13), and assists (17).  Jackson Reid, Hiana Thompson, Mike Byrne, and Connor Kelly each added 1 point on the night.

Justin Geddie got the start in net and recorded 33 saves and allowed just 11 goals.  Panther City recorded 5 more shots on goal than Albany.

On defense, Byrne led the team with 9 loose ball recoveries.  Byrne also caused 1 turnover in the game.  John LaFontaine recovered 6 loose balls in the loss.  On the season, LaFontaine ranks second on the team with 68 loose ball recoveries.  Powless, and Nick Chaykowsky each recovered 5 loose balls.  Powless also led the Wolves with 2 caused turnovers.  Thompson, Patrick Kaschalk, and Colton Watkinson each caused 1 turnover in the game.  Watkinson is now tied with Chaykowsky with 11 caused turnovers on the season.  Ty Logan, Leo Stouros, and Brent Mitchell all blocked 1 shot in the loss.  Logan now ranks third on the Wolves with 5 blocked shots this year.
