THIRTEEN DIFFERENT FIREWOLVES SCORE IN HEARTBREAKING LOSS: BY THE NUMBERS

The Albany FireWolves (3-14) were defeated by the Philadelphia Wings (8-9), 10-9, at the MVP Arena on Sunday afternoon. It was a defensive battle throughout, but the Wings tied the game late in the fourth quarter before scoring the game-winner in overtime. 13 different FireWolves recorded at least 1 point in the game.

Connor Kelly and Ethan Walker led the offense with 4 points each on the night. Both forwards logged 2 goals and 2 assists in the contest. Kelly continues to lead the FireWolves with 61 total points, and 31 goals this season. Walker ranks just behind Kelly for the team lead with 24 goals. Marshall Powless (1 goal, 1 assist), John Piatelli (1 goal, 1 assist), Jake Fox (2 goals), and Thomas Vaesen (1 goal, 1 assist) each recorded 2 points in the game. Piatelli ranks third on the club with 20 goals this year. Jackson Reid, Brett Manney, Colton Watkinson, Hiana Thompson, Mike Byrne, John LaFontaine, and Nick Chaykowsky each scored 1 point on the night.

Doug Jamieson had a solid game in net despite the loss. The goalie recorded 43 saves and allowed just 10 goals. On the season, Jamieson has stopped 560 shots and has a respectable 78% save percentage.

Piatelli led the team with 10 loose balls on the night. Chaykowsky finished the game with 9 loose ball recoveries, caused 3 turnovers, and blocked 1 shot. Chaykowsky is now second on the club with 16 caused turnovers on the season. Patrick Kaschalk and Manney each recovered 7 loose balls in the game.

Manney also caused 1 turnover in the contest. Kaschalk continues to lead the FireWolves with 88 loose balls and 9 blocked shots this season. Byrne caused 1 turnover in the game and is now third on the club with 15 for the year.
