The Albany FireWolves (2-10) were defeated by the New York Riptide (4-9), 13-10, at the Nassau Coliseum on Saturday evening. Albany scored the game’s final four goals, but it was not enough to overcome the five-goal deficit in the fourth quarter.

The FireWolves offense was led by Ethan Walker who scored 6 total points on 4 goals and 2 assists. With the four-goal effort, Walker now ranks second on the FireWolves with 17 goals this season. Kieran McArdle (5 assists) and newly acquired Marshall Powless (1 goal, 4 assists) each recorded 5 points in the game. McArdle continues to lead the club in total points (54) and assists (39). John Piatelli added 4 points in the loss on 1 goal and 3 assists. Connor Kelly (3 goals) and Jake Fox (1 goal, 2 assists) each contributed 3 points in the game. Kelly’s second goal of the night was his 100th career point. John LaFontaine and Patrick Kaschalk rounded out the FireWolves scoring with 1 point each.
In net, Doug Jamieson recorded 36 saved and allowed just 13 goals. On the season, Jamieson has made an even 400 saves, has a 12.54 GAA, and a respectable save percentage of 77%.
On defense, Mike Byrne led the team with 12 loose ball recoveries. Byrne also caused 1 turnover in the game. Zac Tucci scooped up 10 loose balls and caused 1 turnover. Kaschalk, LaFontaine, and Aaron Forster each caused 2 turnovers on the night. Kaschalk led the Wolves with 2 blocked shots, and LaFontaine and Ty Logan each blocked 1.
Tucci dominated faceoffs in the game, winning 18 of 25.
