Mr. Kumin is Co- President of Leucadia Asset Management LLC. Prior to Leucadia, Mr. Kumin was CEO of Folger Hill Asset Management, which merged with Schonfeld Securities in 2018. Previously, he worked at SAC Capital Advisors for 10 years serving as Chief Operating Officer for the last 5 of them. Mr. Kumin also worked at Sanford Bernstein and Lazard Asset Management. Mr. Kumin currently serves as a director of Starwood Property Trust (“STWD”). He also serves on the boards of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, The Fessenden School in Newton, MA, The Trust Board at Boston Children’s Hospital and Team Impact in Quincy, MA. Mr. Kumin is also on the board of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association and the Belmont Child Care Association Board. Mr. Kumin holds a BA in political science from Johns Hopkins University.

Mr. Kumin is an investor in the Premier Lacrosse League, and he is currently serving as Chairman of the US Lacrosse Foundation Board and is a member of the Johns Hopkins University Lacrosse Advisory Board. As a player at Johns Hopkins, he played in 2 Final Fours and received the W. Taylor Cook Award in 1999 for Outstanding Character and Attitude.

As a horse owner Mr Kumin co-owned Justify, a triple crown winner in 2018. He has also won the Kentucky Derby a second time with Authentic in 2020 when he went on to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic and become Horse of the Year. He’s won the Preakness Stakes with Exaggerator as well at the Travers Stakes with Catholic Boy and the Kentucky Oaks with Monomoy Girl. He has currently won 12 eclipse awards and 9 Breeders Cup races.
