Stephen Donovan - Albany FireWolves

Coordinator, AFW Academy

Stephen Donovan was born and raised here in Albany, NY. Stephen attended SUNY Brockport where he played football and graduated with a degree in Communications. While working in the Albany area Stephen became involved in youth lacrosse as a coach for the Shaker Capitals Lacrosse Club in 2014. He became the President of the Shaker Capitals program in 2016 and coordinated the build of one of the first box lacrosse fields built on school property in NYS. In 2019 Stephen Co-Founded the Aruba Whiptails Travel Lacrosse Club, which took home a championship in two National Events. In 2019 and 2020 he developed and co-founded the Albany 518 Empire Box Lacrosse Club and the Collar City RiverDogs Box Lacrosse Club. In 2021, Stephen began partnering with the Albany FireWolves to assist in developing the AFW Academy and Travel Programs.

Now as the Coordinator of the AFW Academy, Stephen looks to use his experience towards the development of competitive youth box lacrosse travel teams. Stephen remains active in the community through his employment, consulting, and volunteering.
