ALBANY, NEW YORK – The Albany FireWolves, the Capital Region’s professional indoor lacrosse team playing out of the Times Union Center beginning in December, today announce that Andy Towers has been named the U.S. Scout for the organization. Towers will serve as a resource to the FireWolves coaching staff using his extensive knowledge of the best field lacrosse players currently in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and at the collegiate level.
Towers, a former player and collegiate coach, is currently the Head Coach of the Chaos Lacrosse Club of the PLL, keeping him tapped into the best field lacrosse players in the world. This will be Towers’ third season as the Head Coach of the Chaos, where he was voted the PLL Coach of the Year during its inaugural season in 2019. During 2020-21 NLL season, Towers served as the American Scout to General Manager Jim Veltman with the New York Riptide. In a similar role for the FireWolves, Towers will provide Clark and his staff input on all American players that the team is actively looking at via league transactions or through the draft process. Towers will provide insight on players’ abilities, intangibles, background, and character.
