FIREWOLVES LOOK AHEAD TO REMATCH AFTER DEFEAT TO SWARM: BY THE NUMBERS

The Albany FireWolves (2-7) were defeated by the Georgia Swam (1-7), 20-4, at the Gas South Arena in Georgia on Saturday evening.  Georgia scored all six goals in the game’s second period and kept their foot on the gas for the remainder of the contest.  The two teams will square off again next weekend in the Capital Region.

Once again, the FireWolves offense was led by Kieran McArdle who compiled 3 points on 3 assists.  McArdle continues to lead the team in total points (42) and assists (28), and ranks second on the team with 14 goals.  Connor Kelly (1 goal, 1 assist), Hiana Thompson (1 goal, 1 assist), and John Piatelli (2 goals) each added 2 points in the game.  Kelly leads the Wolves with 16 goals on the season, ranks second on the team with 37 total points, and is third on the club with 21 assists.  Tanner Thomson, Justin Scott, and Ethan Walker each scored 1 point in the loss.  Thomson sits second on the team with 23 assists and is third on the team with 35 total points.

Both goalies saw action in net during the game.  Justin Geddie played 46 minutes and allowed 11 goals while stopping 16 shots.  Doug Jamieson played nearly 14 minutes and allowed 9 goals and made 15 saves.

On defense, Jackson Nishimura led the team with 9 loose ball recoveries.  Nishimura now leads the club with 52 loose ball recoveries on the year.  Kelly, Patrick Kaschalk, and Aaron Forster each recovered 6 loose balls on the night.  Kaschalk ranks second on the Wolves with 51 recovered loose balls.  Brent Mitchell, John LaFontaine, and Nick Chaykowsky each blocked 1 in the game. Forster caused 2 turnovers in the contest while Mitchell, LaFontaine, Kaschalk, Thompson, Colton Watkinson each caused 1.
