FireWolves players named to USA Lacrosse team

FireWolves players Connor Kelly and Kieran McArdle will represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championships.

SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse has named the final 23-man roster that will represent the United States in the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego. The United States is the reigning world champion and will be the No. 1 seed for the 30-team event which runs June 21 through July 1.

Connor Kelly
Forward • #40

The University of Maryland midfielder played both professional field and box lacrosse following graduation. He began his pro career playing with the Atlanta Blaze in the Major League Lacrosse. In 2019, Kelly played for the Whipsnakes in the Premier Lacrosse League, and made his NLL debut with the San Diego Seals. Kelly played the following NLL season with the New York Riptide, and each of the past three seasons outdoors with the Waterdogs. In his NLL career, Kelly has tallied 56 points on 24 goals and 32 assists in just 19 games played.

Kieran McArdle
Forward • #66

McArdle is entering his sixth season in the NLL after spending his first three with the Toronto Rock and the past two with the Riptide. In his career, McArdle has racked up 187 total points on 71 goals and 116 assists in just 76 regular season games. McArdle brings playoff experience to the Capital Region, having logged 12 total points on four goals and eight assists in five career playoff games. McArdle has had a successful career in the outdoor game as an attackman in the Premier Lacrosse League as well, winning Rookie of the Year in 2014 and has been named an All-Star three times.
