ALBANY, NY – The Albany FireWolves, of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), today announce that the team will host Albany Empire night on Saturday, April 16 at 7 p.m. for their home game against the Philadelphia Wings.
The FireWolves will honor the 2021 National Arena League Champions and fans will get a first look at the 2022 Empire opening night roster. Additionally, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to the Empire’s home opening game on Saturday, April 23 against the Carolina Cobras. Furthermore, all fans who attend the Empire’s first home game will receive a free ticket to the FireWolves’ regular season finale on Saturday, April 30 against the New York Riptide; a game that will have major playoff implications on the line.
“The FireWolves family would like to pay a special tribute to the Albany Empire coming off their championship season and wish them the best of luck in their 2022 season campaign,” said George Manias, President of the FireWolves. “It is so great to have professional sports back in the Capital Region and both organizations are hopeful that this region can support us all like we are dedicated to supporting each other.”

The FireWolves also announce that the Michelob ULTRA pregame parties will be moved outside onto Pearl Street in front of the MVP Arena prior to each of the final two regular season home games. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the April 16 game for the outdoor pregame block party at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy live music from Dashboard Anthem as the FireWolves make a push for the NLL playoffs.
“As the weather breaks and hopefully cooperates with us, we are excited to bring the outdoor block parties back to create that great pregame atmosphere that this arena has offered in the past,” Manias added. “With two great bands committed to our final games of the regular season, Dashboard Anthem on April 16, and The Refrigerators on April 30, we want to go all out to draw fans in and help support our playoff push. We are in a crucial part of our season and are calling upon the fans in the Capital Region to rally around this team to help end on a strong note. The outdoor pregame block party should help us kickstart our efforts here and we hope the fans come out in full force and help us pack the house!”
