Marshall Powless led the FireWolves offense with 4 total points on 2 goals and 2 assists. Powless has played in 5 games with the FireWolves since the team acquired him via trade, and the forward has recorded at least 4 points in each. Connor Kelly (1 goal, 2 assists), John Piatelli (2 goals, 1 assist), and Ethan Walker (1 goal, 2 assists) each logged 3 total points in the contest. Kelly now leads the Wolves with 57 total points and 29 goals. Walker ranks third on the club with 22 goals on the season. Patrick Kaschalk, Hiana Thompson, and John LaFontaine each added 1 point in the defeat.
Both Albany goaltenders saw action on Saturday night. Doug Jamieson started the game in net and recorded 30 saves while allowing 13 goals. Justin Geddie played the game’s remaining 19 minutes and allowed 2 goals while stopping 10 shots. Georgia took 10 more shots on goal than Albany.
On defense, Mike Byrne led the way with 8 loose ball recoveries and 4 caused turnovers. Byrne is now tied for second on the team with 14 caused turnovers this season. Piatelli and Jackson Reid each collected 6 loose balls in the game. Reid also caused 1 turnover and blocked 1 shot. Kaschalk caused 2 turnovers in the game, and LaFontaine and Jonah Boehm each caused 1. Leo Stouros led the team with 2 blocked shots, and Powless, Ty Logan, and Nick Chaykowsky each blocked 1.
